Writer's Block - How I deal with it.

As with everything creative the creator has his or her blank outs (as I call it). So do writers. It's like hitting the wall or plunging into the abyss. No matter how much you blink at your mode of writing, the words refuse to come. And that is when you abandon all hope and start to panic. Well no, just kidding. Sorry for the drama. But yeah... we have all met that wall and felt frustrated with ourselves. There is a lot of advices out there about how to overcome a writer's block but I'm going to tell you my way. The only way that works for me that is.

Music! Nooo not Bach, that's good for my husband... not me... nope...

For me it is songs with meaningful lyrics that match with the story that I'm writing. And hence I have a few playlists named after the novels I'm working on with different songs that could suit the plot or the feelings of the characters in the respective novels. It totally works for me. And Bam! I get what I need to write, and the words start flowing again.

Linkin park, Evanescence, Within Temptation, Avril Lavigne, Imagine Dragons, Skillet, are a few of my favorites. Some of my stories actually take inspiration from some of their songs.

Give it a try.
